FZW Band TIPS Trained Parents

The updated concert volunteer list is continually updated on this website (Click Here).  There are still opportunities to
work concerts and make money for your student's fundraising account.  This money will help offset the cost of band
functions and the upcoming trip to the Alamo Bowl in December.

There are three concerts that still have openings:
August 14, August 26, and September 18.

We need your help!
Please email Mark Bouknecht at mbouky@charter.net to sign up.

Band Camp Forms and Information

Forms and information are now available for this summer's band camp.
Links to files are on the Forms/Downloads page, or click below:

Letter from Mr. Sharkey
Camp Information
Permission Form
Health Information Forms
Bus/DCI Order Form

The forms that should be printed out, completed, and returned to Joanne Hoormann
at the Day Band Camp at school are as follows:

Permission Slip (required)
Bus/DCI order form (required)
Health Information Sheet (required)
Basic Emergency Medication Authorization (required)
Medication Parent Permission (optional)
Physician's Orders for Prescription Medications (optional)
Parent Request for Over-the-Counter Medications (optional)

By turning in these forms during the Day Camp, the check in process at Camp Cuivre will be much quicker.
All information contained in these forms is treated confidentially.

All students must bring a 24 pack of bottled water to Camp Cuivre.  We use quite a bit of water
during the week at camp and any leftover water will be used throughout the marching season.

Any medications that your student will need at camp need to be turned in to the nurse on August 1st at check-in.

We still have openings for kitchen help during the Away Camp.
Please consider helping out the students by volunteering a few hours of your time.

For driving directions to Cuivre River State Park in Troy, MO,
For a map of the park that shows the location of Camp Cuivre,

As you approach the Visitor's Center on MO-147, turn right.  At the stop sign
turn right again, and the camp parking lot will be a short distance ahead on the right.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Joanne Hoormann at ajhoormann@charter.net.

Parent Volunteers Needed for Band Camps

Band Parents, the food committee needs you!
W
e are short on kitchen help for Tuesday, August 3rd, at Away Band Camp.
If anyone can donate a little time to help with lunch (10-1) or dinner (4-7) please
e-mail Nancy at Halligan@CenturyTel.net

DAY CAMP

We are still in need of volunteers for the upcoming day camp.  This camp will be held at FZWHS on Monday, July 26,
2010 through Thursday, July 29, 2010.  There will be two shifts, 8-12 and
12-4 Monday and Thursday.  The shifts on
Tuesday and Wednesday will tentatively be 12-4 and 4-8.  This involves filling & maintaining water jugs out on the field,
icing down drinks, helping to put together tubs of snacks, and just being there for the kids in case we are needed.

AWAY CAMP

The band will be at Cuivre River State Park on Sunday, August 1 through Thursday, August 5.  Volunteers are needed in
the kitchen.  Monday through Wednesday, the day shift (11-6) will prepare and serve meals and snacks.  The evening
shift (6-9) will do some of the preparation for the next day (washing and chopping fruits and veggies, etc.) and helping
with the evening snack.  On Thursday, we will need help from approx. 8 a.m. until departure to pack up and clean the
kitchen.

If you aren’t able to help at the away camp, maybe baking would fit better into your schedule.  Home baked goodies are a
favorite part of camp; but as you can imagine, it takes an enormous amount of food to feed this army of hungry kids!  We
will need:
Brownies        Cookies        Cupcakes        Muffins
These can be baked in advance then frozen in aluminum foil pans with lids.  Please let us know how much baking you
can do to help us with our planning.  Baked goods can be dropped off at the kitchen when you bring your student to camp.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 6 @ FZWHS

We need help in the morning icing down drinks and serving lunch.  After lunch, we will begin set up for the family pot luck
(more info coming later).

If you are able to work a shift or do some baking, please contact Nancy Halligan at 636-978-5395 or e-mail
Halligan@centurytel.net or call Joyce Anderson at 636-978-3427.  Thank you so much!

Committee Leadership

This is our last year on the food committee since our students will be graduating.  If you think you are interested in
chairing or co-chairing this committee, please e-mail Stephanie Eggemeyer at sjegg@yahoo.com.  You can still
“shadow” us to allow for a smooth transition!
